Hello and welcome to my website, I really appreciate you taking the time to learn a little about me. I've loved the theatrical arts for as long as I've been a part of them, almost eight years now. I've had many other interests and near misses with other career paths over the years, and I've often wondered what keeps me coming back to lighting. The answer always seems to change, or at least my perception of it, and I think fundamentally that's why my interest in it has been so pervasive throughout my life. There is so much to get out of lighting, not only because of the infinite complexities within the dynamics between the physics and psychology of light, but also thanks to the numerous fields of artistic expression lighting plays a role in. Visual perception is near the heart of so many vastly different art forms, whether it be painting a landscape, composing a scene of a film, defining the visual motifs of a video game, or sculpting out a performer on a stage. The decision making behind these designs is too rife with variety and hidden complexity, as you must consider mathematical, physical, psychological and aesthetic components for every choice. This constant font of new challenges and frontiers is why I think I keep coming back to lighting, because it is anything I want it to be.
